No time like the present I'd say
Ranting here:
I've had it! Not only does our company's U.S. "superiors" tie our hands here as far as maintaining our servers, what we can do with our PCs, and only granting us certain "privilages" to maintaining our local network environment. But they have the gall to treat us like we're no better than the crud they scrap off thier shoe!
I e-mailed a question to one such person in the U.S., asking why a password had been put on one of my programs and how would I work around it if I was unaware of the password when this is done to our user's PCs (which will happen in the near future). His response to me was "Yes. The support staff will know the password."
SUPPORT STAFF???
At this point in time, my job function is Assistant Network Administrator. My boss, the Manager of Network/Telecommunications, has ensured I have full access and privilages to everything she does, which is basically all of our company resources accross Canada, and he has the audacity to talk down to me such as he did???? I personally don't care if he's thinking I'm no better than someone who knows nothing more than how to smack keys on a keyboard, if I'm told how to do it, but to actually say it? If it didn't mean leaving my boss in a pickle, having to retrain someone to take over for her when she retires (early) in 5 years, I'd be out the door tomorrow!
Well, time to bone up on the old resume I'd say!
Finished ranting now.
Sorry about the long post folks...this was just bugging the $h1t out of me!
