Please remember that when you post, you only need to hit the Post button Once! Otherwise you post multiple times. I have removed 3 or 4 dupes in the last 10 minutes.
Thanks.

This is odd, I have had to remove one of my own as well in the past ten minutes. I didn't really think I hit the button twice though.
When you hit the Add reply, and you see your browser working, just let it finish, or it will give you multiple posts.
Q, the forum software USED TO BE configured to grey the button out once it is pressed, so impatient people can't accidentally make multiple posts by pressing the button repeatedly.
After the upgrade, it doesn't do this anymore.
Oh well, keeps you mods busy deleting multiple posts. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
It happens if you hit the back key to go back to the thread. If you sit on the redirect page too long, it will post your reply again. I did it a few times before I figured it out.
That's why I posted a reminder, so they wouldn't get impatient...I hope.Quote:

Q, I don't exactly know how Scott would put this in the CGI (he must have some special software), but it is pretty easy to add a little JS to the reply page...so when people click the reply button it automatically disables itself.
If you do not know how to do this I can write up that code (it's only a few lines) and email it to you.
You have to talk to Scott. He'll probably get that cleared up soon, but I just wanted a reminder up until then. You honestly don't know how many dupes we see...Quote:

Th emain problem at the moment is the amount of bandwidth. Because of the amount of users posting at any one time (don't forget the invisible ones) the forums are taking longer than usual to respond to browser clicks. I have been waiting up to 2minutes for a page to change after a click & I am on broadband. God knows what it is like for the dialup users?????
I think the solution to bandwidth problems is for us to post in shifts. Me and DW get Sunday-Saturday from 4AMEST-3AM-EST. Everyone else can post from 3AM-4AMEST. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
