For all I know this could be another repeat of a thread started months ago, but who cares.
Anyway, what's the most annoying question(s) that you would hear from people?
May personal favorite is the customers who wanna get more memory installed because they are unable to install Windows, Office, or their favorite game due to lack of free space on their hard drive.
I think my personal favorite is "Why can't I log on to the internet...it keeps saying authitication failed?" and it is always something like password is all CAPS, didn't enter password. Crap like that.
My favorite when I was running a Novell network was when the user wouldn't check the username in the login box and call to tell me their password wasn't working. If I had been at their machine doing something, it would be left with "admin" as the username, and they would just type in their own password and then call me to say it wasn't working. I got to the point where I would actually do a fake login attempt with their username when I was finished, just so it would be left in the login box so they wouldn't be calling me the next morning. [sigh]
A response to *my* question, actually:
"No, I didn't do anything to cause that to happen."
I like when they close out the logon script when it is running and things get messed up. I always ask "did you cancel out that black box that comes up when you login?" they ALWAYS respond "no way! I didn't cancel any thing! I did the same as I do every morning!" Then when I am standing next to them having them log in again, I point to the dos box the login script runs in (the "black box") and say "did you cancel that out??" and they always say "OH! that black box! yeah I canceled that out."

"Are you open?"
No, dummy. I come in here all the time when we are closed just to answer the #$%& phone.
Typical conversation:
Use emails me and says:
"I'm not connected to the network!!"
Me: " if you're not connected to the network...how are you emailing me?"
User:
" well, I can't get to the system folders, the shortcut I made doesn't work."
Me: " remember the last time I showed you how to map a network drive? It'll be the same method I showed you 7 times already. Just do that."
User: " Can't you just come over here and do it for me?"
Me: " Of course I can, I'll just drop everything I'm doing right now and map your network drive for you once again. I wasn't really doing anything important except for clearing transactions and trying to find out why the president of the company can't receive email. But he can wait."
User: "oh, should I just follow the instructions you emailed me a while back?"
Me: " No that would be much to simple, convenient, and would save alot of time. I better just tell the prez he'll have to wait."
User: " oh that's ok I can see your busy, I'll just pull up that email and try it myself, thanks:-)"
This actually happened, and it isn't the first time. And the smiley face WAS there...lol.

Yes, everyting that goes wrong is caused by me. I get board so, I screw with you computers for the fun of it. Yes, I am the one who screws around with your outlook setings, not to mention the times I delete your desktop icons.
The problem with this is if you have intruder lockout enabled. They repeatedly try to login and eventually lock out the admin account!

I just had to go do that less than 10 minutes ago. Damn people are stupid sometimes.
