Found this article today on the OCAU forums, im not sure if it was written as a joke or not, but it definetly sounds serious, and i know a few people i wouldnt want reading it...

I have been called a hacker because I know how to use DOS and regedit. Actually have people shrink back in fear like the FBI will storm the place place because I use the PC for something besides solitaire.

Maybe, maybe not, but the article clearly states to go with AOL...which means it may mean MORE people in AOL chat...

I'm really more confused about that article than anything else. I don't beleive that it's serious, and trying to understand someone's motivations for writing this are always impossible. For now, I'll just shrug and move on.

If someone is saying this seriously than I think we should drag their stupid *** out in the street and shoot'em. Hang them out in town square with a sign that says "Pretended to be Computer Literate." I bet Peter would like to pull the trgger because he's the "anti-social computer hacker."
Sounds a little like me when I was first starting out with computers. When my mother bought me my very first 486, I was hooked. I hung out the *in-crowd* in high school. I went from begging my mother to let me go out every night with my friends to my mother taking my computer away because I would stay on it non-stop. Not even a hand of God could peal me off my computer. I wanted to learn everything I could about it and what its capabilities were. I did not want to go to school, family events, dates with girlfriends.....or for that matter get any sleep. I would sit at my computer 10's of hours at a time. The only reason to get up was to go to the bathroom or get something to eat or drink.
Needless to say my fascination with computers was like when you found out what sex is really like. I could not get enough of my computer. To this day, I can waste a Saturday and Sunday sitting at the computer and I'm 24.
I'm not a hacker; it's just the innovative side of me.
