One of the newbies and I were watching this on TV this week during our lunch break. He asked me if I beleived "the gift" this guy had been given. I told him that a lot of people holds this "gift" he speaks of. Salesmen, scam artists, poker players, etc. also do it very well. It's the ability to read people. This guy is not much diffenet than those churchy road shows people do. (Thinking of that, If anyone is ever looking for a good movie to watch, Leap of Faith with Steve Martin is a great testiment of how these shows work.)
I told him I wanted to believe dude had a gift cause I would hate to think that someone would scam so close to the heart.
Newbie was exactually offended cause dude has a gift and he does not want to see differently. Oh well, takes all types. Cause this tv "I see death" guy is taking that fact all the way to the bank.

Leap of Faith--good film.
People are anxious to believe this crap because it helps them believe that life continues after their bodies die.....and if they can believe that firmly enough, they can better tolerate all the manipulations, controls, and attacks they feel themselves under now understanding that these problems are only temporary......
Whether there is an afterlife or not, how much more powerful would our lives be if we lived as if there weren't? Wouldn't it make more sense to live as if there weren't---that this is all we have so we better not waste one minute of it? What would the world look like if so many people didn't passively surrender their lives for some perceived future return?

I'm not saying that the true gift does not exist nor that people do not have it. I just think that if someone does have the gift, they would not sell it out there. The comprise to that position, they are a fraud.
Keep in mind, people thought Ms. Cleo had a gift.........

There are many people who can "read" our facial expresions or pick up on the "use" of our words or expresions and use it to their advantage such as salemen who are taught or learn some of these techniques to increase there profitibility and enhance the merchandise appealability to the customer.Just watch QVC or other sales channels to see the techniques employed or even the gypsy Rosey Lee`s of this world.
As to real world do not confuse the ability to "see" with the world of religion or the "spirit world"[if there is such a thing] they are different kettles of fish altogether.
One last thought if it were true, think long and hard, would you think it a gift or a burden to be born with such insight if such a thing were to be true?
