Ok, I have no idea why I keep reading the anchordesk at Zdnet.
Does anyone else think David Coursey is an idiot or really is it just me??
these last few articles concerning MS gripes are just astounding, HEY I have my gripes but I can't believe some of the ignorant things this guy is saying. And this guy is supposed to know this stuff well enough to write about it.
Why can't Outlook tell me when I have an entry in the address book that's the same as the one I am entering?
I don't know about you guys but mine tells me that just fine and I didn't have to set it to do that.
And that's just an example. What a waste of my time. :mad:

Couldn't agree more. I nearly posted the exact same thing yesterday but then work got chaotic..
That guy is clueless. He reminds me of those 14 year old's who's main purpose in life is flame on places like this. His little smug photo winds me up before I've read a line of what he has to say.

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks he's a t**d. I better steady though on I feel a strong pull towards the dark side.

I've got to agree with this one, sometimes I read the talkbacks just for laughs. I've yet to find a place where so many ID10T's go and act like they know what they're talking about.

I've never read any news from zdnet whether it be warnings of pentium III's dropping of the earth into oblivion or the latest virus scare I've never found zdnet to be of any help except for downloading small programs.

John Gould, who works on the help desk of a big corporate Microsoft customer, shares another catch-22 story:

"During our recent upgrade to Office 2000, it was discovered that if you need to add something to an install you have already completed, you must use the exact same CD you used to install the product on that machine in the first place. You cannot use a second, different CD, even if it is the exact same product! Try installing this for 800 different users in 10 different nationwide locations and you will soon understand my frustration!!!!!"


Ahem...anyone here think buying 800 seperate copies of Office is kinda ludicrous??
I have to wonder about this guy...and I really have to wonder about his software reseller...ya think he just walked into CompUSA and walked out with 800 copies?

BTW this was one of the example of "problems" Coursey put in his article.

If this was the case then I must have been doing something different to him!!!!!!

WHen I changed my installation of Office 2K Premium to include some other parts for Excel, I used the Office 2K SBE CD that I also own !!!!! Somehow I don't think that they are the same CD's do you???

But then again that is typical of ZDNet anyway, always talking crap!

Agreed Darren...of course your right I have had no problems either doing the same thing...typical ZDnet zombie.
I think I read it basically out of morbid curiosity, like passing by an accident. And of course later I feel disgusted.
