Well, I'm moving the first weekend in January. The bad thing is...THERE'S NO BROADBAND AT MY NEW LOCATION. Yes, the Snakeman will be, for a little while at least...back on....ugh, I can't even type it...

Get MSN Satellite while you wait for something else. It's $60 a month and not as fast as cable but at least you won't have dialup.
Oh yeah and if you must have dialup, dear god don't get AOL/MSN or any of the biggies, and use a hardware modem.

Unfortunately, not moving is not an option. My current place is an apartment attached to my sister's real esate office building. The board of directors decided they need more office space, so they're kicking me out and converting the apartment into part of the office. I - or my sister for that matter - really have no say in the matter.
For the time being, until I can find something else, I'm going to *shudder* move back in with my mom and dad. It's a temporary arrangement, 6 months AT THE VERY MOST, and I'm not wasting my money on another broadband solution for that short of a time frame.
Gee, I WAS going to go with AOL, but since JungleMan warned me, I know better! :rolleyes: :p

That sucks bro. Downgrading from broadband to modem, and downgrading from living as a bachelor to living with parents. Both factors a big slow down and a pain in the rear. I'm sure you'll survive though. You gonna stay in the same state when you eventually move back out on your own?

I'm sure you're already feeling the pinch of imposed limitations. If I hated you, I'd say, "Oh, it'll build some character." But since I don't, I'll be your commiseration pal whenever you need one. I'll even fix you a drinky-poo. I'll even save it as a 50x50 size image in 16-color format and with jpeg compression so it will reach your monitor as fast as a regular drink would with DSL. that sucks. but broadband will be that much sweeter when you get it again. but while you're using dial-up I'd suggest AT&T, that's what I use and I've never been unable to connect <u>ever
