NFL picks-part 2, techs(1-0)

Ok,
With great success from the compilation of picks the techs won. Let's see if we can do it again. I will take whatever is picked by most people WITHOUT bias.

Sorry Grover from last pick looks like you took Seattle. We also had a great Rams vs. 49ers debate so I guess whoever picked Rams are 1-0 as well.

Yea they can. The only problems are that Jerome's aching, and during the last 6 games I believe, the games have been decided by less than 7 points. I think the Ravens have won the last 6 but I'm not sure on that one.

It'll definately be a good game, but I don't see the Ravens doing anything special. Good news for them, they are getting back 4 or 5 guys back from injuries.

My pick of the week is John Ruiz via KO in the 8th or 9th round.

As for football, Green Bay is a safe pick.

I'm not too solid on Pittsburgh, and in my opinion that game ties with Minnesota Detroit as the worst game of the week to bet on.

I think this may be a good week to throw some good upsets in the mix. There are a bunch of very intruiging games that really make you think though. The handicappers are doing a solid job it would seem.


So my football pick of the week is going to be... Washington +3 at home. Washington has been hot lately, and are finally playing up to their talent level. Now that they have the confidence backing that talent, I think they'll handle The Eagles at home. They beat them in Phily in week 11, and that's my upset/pick of the week.

Yeah, Minnesota over Detroit is definitely going to be a safe bet.

Running isn't that much of a factor in a Steelers vs. Ravens game - it's all about field position - so I'm not worried about the Bus. I'd rather he sit this game out as well, since it'll be physical, and they NEED him for the playoffs. If Kordell can throw well, and move on the ground when they need him to AND Kris Brown doesn't royally screw up when they need him, they'll win.

BTW, I'm too lazy to go back through and look at all of them, but the Steelers beat the Titans 34-24 3 weeks ago, and they totally man-handled the Jags, and the Steelers beat the Ravens last year in Balty...

there's no game that jumps out at me this week and screams "WINNER" the detroit line is probably what it should be, and there is only one game with a spread nearing double digits Jets vs Cincy. I'm not convinced about the Jets, but Cincy is also very bad so that's a tough one to call. So I'll be a homer and say . . .

I like the steelers -3.5 at baltimore. Bettis has been downgraded to doubtful and it doesn't look like he'll play, but even without him this game will be close. Kris Brown has had problems, but of the 11 misses this year 8 have been at heinz field.

The steelers won't be able to run against baltimore with or without bettis so him sitting out won't be a big deal. (there's not much difference between 80 yards from bettis and 55 from a backup) Kordell is throwing better then Grbac and I actually think the steelers recieving corps right now is better than Baltimore's. Defensively it's no contest, Baltimore is good, but the steeler's defense is much better as a whole unit. Pittsburgh will cover and probably win outright.

Also I think San Diego should cover over Oakland. They should be able to run on the Oakland, and if the raiders put 8 or 9 up at the line to stop the run flutie will find a way to beat them through the air.

BTW-Personally I think this is Detroit's first win. At the Silverdome, division rival? Perfect stage for 1st victory but personally I wouldn't touch it.

Yeah I'm not sure how you can be so certain of Minnesota when they haven't even named a starter yet. Are they that good that they can win with anyone at QB? :D I wonder if Moss will "decide" to play this week...

Ok guess the techs have picked Minn. Although I think it was more of a how many fans poll, but will place.
