old 4MB RAM sticks??

My mom works at a community college that has upgraded most of its computers. This has caused her to aquire many, many 4MB RAM sticks. I don't know the speed or the exact type. Anyone have a good idea of what to do with this?

It's a little silly, but I thought I could get a section of plywood (or something similiar, perhaps pexiglass) and make a clock using four of the chips--one at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00, and 9:00. I thought of this from seeing a huge expansion card (don't know exactly what it was for) made into a little clock.

I think it's a pretty kick @$$ idea. Do they float? Might make a couple of good bobbers out of them. It's been a while since I've been fishing.

Make ram chain mail or a ram neckless and earrings. You could evenmake key chains, I would buy one.

They make great keychains, our store has been giving them out for over a year.

They also make good substitutes for an X-acto knife when trying to open a box that someone has gone wild with packing tape on. :)

I hope you are talking the 30 pin stuff. Cuz if you are using 72 pin I would cry.

We can't even sell the 8 MB sticks of 72 pin anymore.

Great idea about giving them out! I've been thinking about coming up with some kind of advertising givaway. Got a ton of those things.

Now I need to figure some way to get my name and contact info affixed to the back. Hmmmm, where could I go to get ideas...... ???

I just say that becouse you cant find the stuff anymore and the old PCs I build usualy need them.

Keychains, promo hand outs........what kick @$$ ideas. I think I'll go somewhere other than WinDrivers and take credit for them. :D :D

Hang them from your car, and paint them many different colors.

i currently have a 32 meg 72 pinner as a keychain.... theres probably people out 5there who would kill for that.... it reminds me i am still a geek when i am out on the weekends all dirty and greasy running around in my big truck and hanging out by a tire fire and swilling cheap a@@ brew...

Seriously though... get about 100 or so key rings. and have your shops or your name printed on them.... affix them to the ram and they will make great promo's for you...

Did it occur to anyone to just throw them in some old 486s you have in the shop instead of making friggin keychains? :D

I keep anywhere from 50-75 30pin 4MB sims in a plastic baggie at home. If I ever invent a time machine, I'm going back to the early 90s and selling it, and then I'm gonna be rich.

Even if you don't generally like people, take the tax writeoff!!! Remember, just because we all have kick-*** boxes, that does not really mean these things are worthless. I'd strangle cute, furry animals for a 286 versus having NOTHING...
