I've thought alot about having the surgery....I wore my old contacts yesterday to see what it would be like (sort of). With glasses I can see fine at distance but have to take them off for close-up work. With contacts (and, after surgery so my eye doctor tells me) I can see fine at distance but can't see crap up close. So my options seem to be wear glasses and take them off when I need to see up close, or get the surgery and carry reading glasses for close-up work. I tried bifocals a couple years ago with very bad results.....I'd be real curious to hear from others who have had the surgery.....
