I just want to tell you guys about myself.
I am 22, male and I live in Austin, Texas.
I am getting married to my girlfriend Becky on the 28th of this month and we are expecting (not the reasone why we are getting married). My first name is Bryan and I am a laptop tech for work. I am studying for my A+ (breeze) N+, 2000 MCSE, JAVA, etc. and to be honest I knew nothing about computers before 1999.
What about you guys/girls. OH! One last thing I love eighties music

We already did this one....
Introduce Yourself!

riiiiiiiiiiiight, and I posted on it too. Just trying to get everyone to meet each other (again) not to mention the new people who joined.

Can a mod kill this thread please

I think there's enough newbies to start up again. I posted something recently about the frustrations I once had with recyled topics and how self-centered it was of me to be irritated by that. A river doesn't say to the rain, "enough already, I've seen that." It needs the rain, and then the rain, and then the rain again, just to be the river that it is......
So, if your new or have an update to your previous contribution linked by Opiate, I see no reason why you can't post it here. The newbies, which we all were at one time, keep the Wind(rivers) from becoming a stagnant pond....Welcome, tell us about yourselves.

Well hello all from the Sky Island regions of the High Sonoran Desert of Arizona. I am 43 years old, a graduate of Ferrum College and East Tennessee State University (also a Mining Engineering completion certificate from Virginia Tech). I've been married to my lovely wife for 16 (WHACK!)err sorry dear..17 years . One son and a very spoiled Scotch Collie. My first computer was (groan...argh) a 386-SX 16 Packard Bell that cost the equivalent of 4 house payments. The PB is the reason I became proficient at repairing PC's. I'm an avid lover of college football (hardly can wait less than 6 weeks!). I am an Senior Environmental Manager (+ department IS coordinator) by day and a semi pro shade tree tech evenings and weekends. The first computer I seen was well can you say punch card! The first successful computer that I built, and sold, was an AMD K6-2 300 system for my wife's boss.

I haven't contributed to this or the previous thread, so here goes:
My name is Neil, I'm 32, 5'10", medium build and i live in a small village called Millbrook, which is in Cornwall, England. I've been married for 4 years on Aug 4th and have two sons and a daughter. I work as a mechanical/electrical/electronics engineer and the tech work i do is supplementary to my normal work. My first computer was an Atari 800XL back in something like 1984 and i then moved onto a trusty Amiga 1200, which i owned for about 5 years, 3 years of which i spent running a dial-up Bulletin Board System and Fidonet node. My first PC was a 486/100 which i bought for the wife to do her college work on. When i sold the Amiga i put the proceeds from that into upgrading the 486, which was my first attempt at a system build. I went to a local college and did a City & Guilds course in computer maintenance (boring, knew more than the teacher) and also C programming. I have no real certs to speak of and don't plan on getting any as there are no tech job opportunities in my area. I'm happy at the level i'm at and i have a lot of respect for the guys and gals that do this 24/7. I don't often come unstuck but Windrivers is only a phone call away should i need help. I'm glad to be part of the WD family and i hope that i can be of some use...even if its clearing up the empty beer cans after the next WD christmas party
