I just spoke with my mechanic... sounds terminal.. he will pull the head off tomorrow and check things out for me, and in the meantime, it looks like im searching for a replacement motor, just in case...
Any idea how hard it is, searching for a 15 year old fuel injected turbo motor? Not easy.. *sigh*
at a wild guess, i wold say you were looking for a motor for a VL commodor, tried some Jap engine importers ? if it is a VL commodor it got a nissan motor in it
Nope.
Its an E15ET from an N12 ET turbo pulsar. Car is a 1984 model, but the E15ET can be sourced from any of the N12's, up to 1987. Just not much fun trying to track down a decent one.
Ive often thought about going the route of a VL commodore, and doing an RB25DET transplant, but with the recent cost rise of the imported RB25's (seems people are taking a liking to them) and an interest in V8's, forced induction is taking a minor back seat for a while.
Next car will hopefully be a 5.0L VR Statesman. Ive sourced prices on 383 (6.3L) stroker kits, and memcals to look after the setup, and for power VS money, it seems like the way to go. Even a 355 stroker would be rather nice! But yeah.. primary reason for wanting a Statesman, apart from a relatively high 'chick pulling' value, is that most of them havent been treated too poorly, there are plenty of 'go fast' bits for the 5.0's, and the boot is MASSIVE - perfect for the big stereo install. :)

I mean, I drive to Perth about once a month, so something nice and 'cruisable' is a must. Got a DVD player, and I'll probably whack the PS2 in the car to keep passengers ammused, and a nice stroker kit will keep me ammused :D :D
