Did you use the setup disk to enable the accounts on the other pc's? It sounds like 2k and xp are duking it out for dhcp server privilages (they both think they are servers). Just a thought.
You may want to check you connection settings within IE to be sure they are setup to use the LAN as the connection. Also be sure on the 2k box you manually put in the DNS settings and check the default gateway, etc
