How does he do this????
He FREAKIN' did it AGAIN!!!!!
We're opening up a new branch in Feb., and we needed a few more computers. So my boss orders a couple of IBMs--he's partial to IBM. We get them last week, and I ask today if he ordered XP Pro or 2000 Pro. After the first goof, he ordered a sweet 2000 pro machine which I liked more than XP. Anyway, he wasn't sure, but leaned more towards 2000 pro. I start unpacking the thing and then started wondering if I might be able to keep this one for my business use and give my older machine--P2 350 Mhz, 64MB RAM, 8GB hd, and 30GB hd--to the new branch. I would retain the 30GB hd. I think the new IBM had a P4 <1Ghz, at least 128MB RAM, and probably a heck of a lot better video card.
So anyway... I'm pulling out the keyboard--usb internet keyboard with cd/sound controls, the mouse--usb scroll mouse, the box--already covered that, SPEAKERS--my current is an internal, get all this plugged in, and then I look at the license.......
FREAKIN' XP HOME EDITION!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!
The real kicker is when I told him about it, he seemed--at least to me--mad at the company for the screw up?!?!?
Read here for the first offense:

He posted a while back about his boss buying xp home systems and him not being able to log them onto his domain. And it looks like his boss did the same thing again. Sorry man.

XP home is no good in a business since you can not log onto a domain. The OS is useless. If they can't return it this means they have to buy XP pro upgrades or full version, more company money blown.

The ironic thing about this is, something simallar has happened in every company I've ever worked for. Maybe they all hire management from the same place.

Well, it turns out that my boss was originally going to buy some desktop PCs instead of these IBM towers. They came with 98, but would take too long to be delivered. The salesman said that he had some towers that were "exactly" like the desktops. Turns out they weren't. So, I guess this isn't entirely his fault because the salesman sort of tricked him. Still makes me mad though.
