Creating Users in XP Pro
OK I have an XP Question for you guys.
I have that fancy Welcome Screen, and would like to create a user account that does NOT show up on the welcome screen.
How do I go about doing that?
More Info:
I am also running an FTP server from the box, and would like to give some people user accounts and passwords for the ftp server. I would really not like them to show up on that screen though.

how about disabling local login?
or would this not be helpful?

The Log On Locally right is required for FTP access.
Log On Locally is required for everything EXCEPT accessing shares...

There has to be a way to do it.....I'm not sure how yet but I will keep looking. You should notice that the "administrator" account doesn't show up in the welcome screen if you set up additional users but you can still log on as administrator by CNTL+ALT+DEL twice at the welcome screen.

There's a way to force the Old Windows 2000 style login. That could help you. I think it's in Local Security Settings or Gpedit. I'm not too sure. I'll dig around some and let you know.

Ok, using the tool gpedit.msc found in the windows\system32 folder, browse down to: Computer Configuration>> Administrative Templates>>Logon. Look for the key named "Always use classic logon." Hope this helps.

Ya, I know how to get it to use the old style logon.
But here's the deal. This is also my kid's computer. They need to be able to just click on their names.
I have been looking around too. If I find it, I will let you guys know.
