[RESOLVED] Removal of Software in XP - Challenge!!!

Okay folks.. got a weird one for you.

When I tried to remove some of the default screen savers that come with WinXP Pro, they come back. For example.. I hightlighted them, Shift-Del'd them. Gone. You'd think huh? Without hitting refresh... the files reappeared! No matter what I do, they come back. Even if I delete them in Dos.

Same thing happens when I deleted Netmeeting, and MSN Messenger on the PC.

Anyone have some suggestions?? Its driving me nuts, and I do not want these software packages on the PC's in my company.

The files are comming back because the "file protection" is enabled.. basicly you can delete files but they come back. Here is a link on how to do it with 2K, have yet to try it with XP.

For MSN, try the following to get rid of it.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
