Installation problems
when i install win xp pro on my system, or should i say try to, from windows 98 or 2000 (doing a clean install, i have also tried upgrading from 98)
i get this message: a problem has been detected blah blah blah. it then talks about checking your hard drive.
it gives this information under technical details:
STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF7AFC63C,0xC0000034,0x00000000,0x00000000)
when i boot from the cd and run setup from there i get the message: setup cannot locate any hard drives in your system, or a similar message.
i have 2 hard-drives in a RAID 0 coiguration on a promise fastrack 100 controller (a controller that is on my motherboard (an asus A7V133), not in a pci slot).
i have a floppy disk with the controller drivers on it and have specified additiotnal controllers ect to make setup load these dirvers. still no progress. any suggestions?
thanks.

Connect your primary drive to the IDE1 connector on the motherboard for your install. After installation is complete and the drivers are installed for your RAID controller, shut down, move the drive to the RAID controller, and boot your system. If all goes well, shut down, connect the additional drives that will be your RAID, boot the system to the RAID setup and finish building the RAID. A few more steps but it gets the job done.
