I am trying to find a way to automatically:
a)Remove the swap file
b)Restart in safe mode
c)Scan and defrag the hard drive(s)
d)Create a swap file
e)Restart in normal mode
Is there a program that can do this?

one batch file will not do that.. windows2k and xp will allow scripting.. under 98, just schedual a task to do it. as for booting in safe mode to do this.. why?
Thanks for replying.
Booting into safe mode to run the defrag without the virtual memory (swap file). Normal mode on most machines without the VM causes too many problems if Windows gets up at all.

I'm not sure if there iss a command that will allow you to boot to safe mode. I know i can make a BOOT disk that will force a computer to boot into safe mode, i can also make this disk run scandisk (command level), but defraq won't be automated (all squedualed tasks are stoped when in safe mode)
