pb with my new motherboard and my cd writer

I bought a ABIT KT7A to replace my old MSI 6163 Pro but when i tried to put my old scsi card (ADAPTEC AHA 1542) my system fails to recognize my cd writer(traxdata 4120 pro).
I decided to put an adress to my scsi card and change im my bios (cache in DC000 enabled) but it doesn t work
At the begining the system boots and arrives on the scsi card.There i can press control A to enter in the specifications of the scsi card but when i try to find the devices attached to the scsi card,my cd writer isn t there .I tried with my old motherboard, and i find it.I didnt find anythinng in the faq about kt7a.
I don t know what to do.
May somebody help me
