I've always wondered why they don't do a real world series -- like they said, have national teams and let 'em at it. Ever noticed that 'Team USA' in the olymics isn't the guys from the Majors? Its retarded...
Ticket prices are very true too...I'd love to go to an Indians' game or a Reds game but ... $$$$
I find it all very disheartening. I moved to Boston from New Orleans. Boston has baseball; New Orleans does not.
And I find that I really like baseball.
So, now it's going to go away. :-(
Boston has Baseball, thats an understatement...Quote:

Boston has the most loyal fans in all of the major leagues. Show me another team that sells out consistently while they're in the basement! :D
Fenway park is also great. No other stadium can compare.
Who cares if you have to park at McDonalds for $30. Its awesome!
I've lived up here two years and finally went to a Fenway game this season. Pretty nice.
I'd like to go to a night game, preferably in the cooler months.
Anyway, I find that I really like baseball. Back home, I watch the New Orleans Saints, but I never was much of a football person. I didn't really watch any other team.
But I can sit and watch the Red Sox, Dbacks, Braves, Mariners, etc.
I miss Boston... :(
Here, even though we have the Phillies, Yankees, and Mets all near me, all are very expensive.
We just go to a A team in the town next to mine, for less than $100 4 of us go, have good seats, good food and some souvenieres...
Heh, good seats, good eats, good treats. :D
Well, I'm sure you know that the people up here hate the Yankees. Not being from here originally, I can't buy into all the player-hatin'.
Yankees are good enough. Like Jeter and Soriano. They seem really off this year though.
Never seen the Mets, although I was in NYC not too long ago for the "Subway Series Rematch" when the Mets played the Yankees right after the Subway Series.
Heh. Subway Series. I thought it was a neat idea, but apparently it didn't do so well in the ratings.
Oh, I did hear that Piazza's not gay. :D
i used to drive across the state to watch a Reds double-header on occasion...long fun day at the park. i couldnt do it now...too expensive for good seats. as long as the money is there to pay the players and the fans show up and pay the high ticket prices baseball will be around. when the TV networks stop paying to show the games then there will be massive changes.
