Hello all, I am having trouble getting win98 to recognize a modem. BIOS lists a communication device during POST but the o/s doesn't see it. I also do not know the manufacture of this modem so I will have trouble finding drivers. there is a sticker with a bar code on it with the following number NA13800577. Also a sticker with FCCREG: LNQU SA-32756-M5-5. Can any of you give me a lead on this????????

LNQ seems to lead to Actiontec Electronics Inc here but the format of the rest of the FCC ID gives an incorrect search:confused:
The number is an fcc reg, very different to an fcc id!Quote:

Does it show up in the Device Manager at all, are you getting nothing or are you getting a yellow or red X?
Does it have drivers? Are they installed?
You could launch a search under Start>Settings>Control Panel>Add/Remove Hardware. Make sure your Antivirus is off and all other programs are off as well.
