NFL - Who would you KILL to have on your team?

Okay...this is just a hypothetical topic. Who do you wish you had playing for your favorite team - IRL, or fantasy?

For me & my Steelers, its:

1)Donovan McNabb. This guy is the real deal. He's everything Kordell Stewart was thought to be. He's quick, smart, and accurate, and forces defenses to keep on their toes and play loose coverage cause he's a true threat to run. Gotta admire him - he was basically Philly's entire offense for the past 2 years, and he still managed to lead them to an 11-5 record every time. It's scary of what he could do if he had the right talent around him. Like a Hines Ward or an Antwaan Randle El.

2)Shannon Sharpe. The guy's got a big mouth on him, but he can back it up. Undoubtedly the best receiving tight end in the business. I was kinda hoping the Steelers would make an effort to get him last year when he was released by the Ravens, but I guess that would've been to much strain on the cap.

3)Takeo Spikes. People talk about Ray Lewis, and how great he is. Takeo doesn't have the luxury of playing with one of the best defenses in the NFL. Now that Ray Ray has lost Siragusa and Addams, I expect him & Takeo will be about on level playing field. I would've brought Takeo Spikes in to take the the place of Earl Holmes in the Steelers' linebacker corps.

4)Champ Bailey - Pittsburgh needs a good coverage CB. Washington and Scott are too slow, and Washington misses tackles all the time.

5)Jevon Kearse - Every time I think that the Steelers could've had Da Freak in the 99 draft, but instead picked Troy Edwards, I shed a tear.

I would add Charles Woodson to that list.

I've watched the Raiders closely over the past few years since he's come into the league. Some people dismiss him quickly and say hes "overrated" because he doesn't get many int's. But if you are a true fan and watch the game you will see the reason he doesnt have many. The offense just simply does not throw the ball to his side of the field. He completely shuts down one side of the passing game. This would be a huge advantage for the Steelers, as good coverage=more sacks for Porter, Gildon, and my personal favorite Kimo Von Oelhoffen.

True, I completely forgot about Woodson. He was all over Plax like letters on Fu's jersey Sunday night. He's prolly the best CB in the league and I completely overlooked him.

Doug Flutie.

Seeing this guy play in the CFL for years, totally dominate the league, and wondering why he wasn't playing in the NFL? Then he finally got his break in Buffalo, when their #1 QB was out, totally outplayed and outclassed him, but when the #1 guy came back, Flutie was out of a job because he wasn't their "#1" guy. What a load. Flutie was 10 times better than whoever that other guy was, he proved it, but he still got the shaft. He can run with the ball like no other QB can; it's like having an extra running back on the field.

Heisman Trophy, Six outstanding player of the year awards in the CFL, he owns like half the QB records in the CFL, this guy was not a second string player. He was and still is one of the best QB's in all of football. North OR south of the border.

Well said, Woodson is not overrated. Woodson is the best cover corner in the league and he is an excellent tackler. PLus he can do reciever, punt/kick returner...the man has skills!!!

To bad he's out for 6 weeks do to his fall defending against Plaxico...

my list?

1. Marshall Faulk. What more needs to be said?

2. Brett Favre. As much as I love Rich Gannon, I'd take Favre any day of the week. Throw short, throw long, Scramble, Favre has it all...plus he has Heart.

Looking over the Raider's roster, there really isn't anyone else I'd trade for...maybe an O-line man...or two, but the unit itself is pretty solid.

No way in hell I'd trade out Brown Rice or even Jerry Porter for any other receiver. Tight Ends are solid if not spectacular, although I hate him, I wouldn't mind Sharpe. Defensively, again the D line is tremendous with Adams, Parella and Armstrong..Linebackers are finally NOT a weakness... With Woodson and James at CB and Woodson and Gibson at S, they have one of the better DBfields in the NFL..I wouldn't trade a thing..

Well, since my team already has the best QB in the league (Farve) and a pretty decent RB (Ahman Green), i'd probably take somebody like a Jevon Kearse or something like that to beef up the defense even more than it already is. After that maybe I'd look at another big name reciever. One the like of a Terrel Owens or a Marv. Harrison.

One more name I want to add to my list - Rod Woodson. He's still good for his age, but it's not so much his ability that I really want. I'd like to see him be able to retire as a Steeler, seeing as he spent the bulk of his career in Pittsburgh. Just wish it was with the Steelers he would've finally gotten his SB ring, instead of those lousy Ravens. :(

Brett Favre!!! Or even Jeff Garcia, he's managed to pass for over 4000 yards two years in a row on a team that wasn't very good and didn't have much of a running threat.

Quarterback and special teams coach are the two glaring weaknesses for the Steel Curtain, if the steelers had either one of those quarterbacks they'd be darn near unstoppable.

I don't know who I would Kill to have on our team, but here in Baltimore we have someone who really does Kill. hehehe... Damn, the Ravens already suck this year.:(

1) Bret Favre- although i love Trent Dilfer, i would give him up for Bret. the guy is just a machine and i love watching him play.

2) Shannon Sharpe- i hated him when he was with Denver, he was always beating up on my Seahawks. but theres nothing better in the west coast offense than a pass catching tight end.

3) Randy Moss- if the guy could get his head out of his @ss and play like he should he would be unreal. it doesn't matter, single, double, triple coverage, he just goes and gets the ball. if he wasn't avilable, i'd love to have Eric Moulds.

4) Warren Sapp- hes just a monster, disrupts offenses by himself. its amazing how a guy his size can move the way he does.

5) John Kasay- i wish Seattle hadn't rid of him in the first place. theres nothing more reassuring in a tight game than having a kicker that you know is money within 50 yards.


i wanna add something to this, and thats who you would kill to dump from your team.

1) Mike Holmgren- he can be a general manager or coach, but he can't do both. hes gotta give one up or hit the road. he lost me last year with some of his bonehead coaching moves. (losing to Miami by 5, on Miamis 35 yard line with a 1:30 in the 4rth and you kick a field goal? a field goal?!)

2) Willie Williams- i like mighty mouse, but the guy is just to small anymore (like 5'7 or something) to play corner anymore. he always seems to give up the big first down or the go ahead td catch. now i know alot of that has alot to do with Shawn Springs playing on the other side so teams are going to pick on him. but still, something has to be done. bring someone else in and either cut him, or move him to the dime package.

Speaking of Sapp, did you hear about that 5 grand fine he got for a second week in a row for driving that Ravens back into the ground? Seemed like a BS fine to me. Looked like the guy was just fighting Sapp and trying to avoid the tackle, and Sapp wasn't getting any help, so he just used his weight to finally drag the guy down.

Fair enough. In pre-season, I would've said Troy Edwards, but we finally got rid of him thanks to a trade with the Rams. Aside from him, Kordell Stewart is about the only Pittsburgh player I feel that getting rid of would have an immediate positive impact. And I'm starting to have my doubts about Cowher's coaching abilities & judgment of his personell as well...

If the Steelers come up short again this year, Kordell and/or Cowher will be gone. I like Cowher, but the level of unpreparedness consistently displayed by his coaching staff is simply unexcusable. Cowher is now the longest tenured coach in the league, but has no rings to show for it.

As for one single player to get rid of, I don't have any I'd like to get rid of, but I'd sure like to see Kordell play any other position than quarterback. Can you imagine Kordell, Hines Ward, Plaxico and Randle El at wideout with Zeroue in the backfield as the safety valve? If only we had someone to throw it to them...

I'd kill anyone here to have her "on my team" if you catch my drift.

I'd Dump


1. Anthony Doresett..sure he's pretty good at batting down field goals..But in two years he can't learn how to farking tackle???? Once they got Rod Woodson and 2nd year Gibson, look how got relagated to 2nd string?? I would have kept JOhnnie Harris and dumped Dorsett..


2. Seabas Janikowski. It was a mistake to grab this kid. OK fine, you've got him, now hand him the job and expect him to improve without any challanging?? feh.

3. James Jett. Why? sure he's got some speed. But he's no threat with the emergance of Jerry Porter and Marcus Knight.

4. Terry Kirby. Sure he broke a big runback on a kickoff, and he did get a 24 yarder against Pitt, but Rookie Madre Hill is faster and stronger, give him his shot in camp next year!

5. Darrell Russel. He's useless...Think Chester McGlockton.

6. Jon Gruden. The most overrated Coach around. Sure he did bring back some respectability to the team with Discipline, but his goosestepping atics did not win games. As a matter of fact his teams imploded at the end of the year. ...oh wait, he's already gone...weeeeeeeeeee

I'd kill to have my co-worker taken off of the team!!!

ANd I would kill to have RC Slocum removed from the Head Coach at A&M.
