It would be cheaper and a whole lot easier if at all possible which I doubt, to pay £20 or so on e-bay for a full set with licence.
BTW I forgot to mention you would also be in breach of your Windows licence should you attempt to do so.
I have Win 95 on about a dozen or so floppies at work. Came that way from M$. :D
Just use a boot disk and laplink the files over to the target drive.
The floppy version of Windows95, is the "A" version only
That was "The want-to-be 32bit operating system"
It would be a lot easier to install a CD-ROM then to buy those floppies, and hopefully all of them are good.
Hmmmm.......d`ont think so.
I`m sure version B was issued on floppy too.
You might still find a copy of Win95 on Ebay or Half.com in floppy format. Don't know how much it would cost however. Last time I checked the number of floppies was somewhere around 25.
22 + boot disk:D
windows95A only was available on floppy, it was 33 diskettes and was available mainly has preinstalled (they provide the labels, you provide the diskettes).
The question is.... why?
I have the original "A" version on floppies from Microsoft
There are a total of 14 disks
"B" version was only sold on CD-ROM, If you find it on diskettes, someone copied them!
Just a thought but you could zip all the .cab files into one file then use AxMan split the files onto floppy....
Also, floppy #1 is in that funky, non-standard format. I think it's 1.6mb or something like that. It can't be copied using normal methods.Quote:

TL
The format was 1.7MB. I used to have a program to format 1.44 to 1.7 but...........
Winimage will take care of the funny format for you.
If i recall correctly, the first floppy on the Win95a set was a standard 1.38Mb, and the remaining ones were 1.68 Mb format to discourage piracy (which it did ... for a week or so).
I've never tried putting Win95b on floppies, but I suspect there are too many files other than the .cab files to fit on a single floppy. Expect problems with Setup not knowing where to find files.
I second the suggestion of copying setup files to hard disk, a damn sight simpler!
