Hi, I'm just about to start some work xp with a local company, as a start to trying to get work in the industry rather than just working off my own back. Anyway I was talking to the cheif tech (he was making sure I wouldnt go around trashing his equipment) and he mentioned that they used PC Check software but that it was pretty poor and would pass stuff that was deff faulty. Anyway I had heard good things about this software and wondered if any of you could give me some feed back on it?
I used to use this test (DOS version) years back. Yes, it can find some errors with hardware, but not too much...
That util was used for diagnosing Gateway computers, by the way.
Personally I would rather rely on my experience than on that an old test...:rolleyes:
Good memory burn-in test, good stress test (like hogging resourses game :D),motherboard/HDD hardware monitor utilities plus experience - that's all what needed for finding the source of the problem, I believe... ;)
Ive paid a lot of money for the full PC Check set up, and I cant say that I am inclined to renew it after the end of the year.
It DOES tend to pass hardware that I know is faulty, although its memory test seems OK. I use the burn in facility now, but thats about it. I agree with Ruslan, and go on experience and a few other small but specific diag apps.

I usually use AMIDiag.
Under DOS and very good.
At my company, we use QuickTech Professional to diagnose bad hardware. Fits on a single floppy disk. I haven't had that much bad hardware to test it on personally, however.
