Error 1513: Bad Attribute Position
I am having problems in merging some free space into my D partition. I have a 30 GB drive which DID have 3 partitions:
· C Fat32 5 GB
· D NTFS 12 GB
· E NTFS 11 GB
I deleted the E partition and tried to reallocate the free space using Partition Magic 7.0. But, I continually receive the error message:
Error 1513: Bad Attribute Position in File Record
I ran Checkdisk with the “r” switch but this did not solve the problem. I tried to merge D and E by recreating the E NTFS partition and using the “Merge Partitions” command from within Partition Magic but still receive the same error message. Running a disk scan with Norton System Works mentions a security descriptor problem but will not fix the problem during a reboot as it claims.
How can I get this free space, about 11GB, to the D partition? I am about to the point of simply making a current backup and formatting the disk as Windows 98 is in the C partition and I have not booted into Windows 98 in months.
I am running Windows XP Home Edition.
Thanks for the help,
Jeff
