for those who want htpc
http://movix.sourceforge.net/
looks like it can run from either a cd-rom, or from a hard drive...
i don't have my spare puter round yet, but i got the distro d/l'ed andhope to have 2 nd pc this weekend will post results.
looks like it does not require all that much to run it..the guy had it going with a p 166, 32 megs ram, 8x speed cd-rom.
looks fun to do...

Nice. I'll be trying it out myself.

took a couple..
it needs to have better documentation for a non computer person, i had an intersting time with x-windows (first time with it). I have found out that it is pretty easy to use, took me 1/4 hour, to see how it works...but it's slick... what this means is that i can bring my movix2 boot cd, to a friends house and watch a burnt movie, w/out getting online for divx codecs or crap like that....
to burn to me a while for the iso...it's set up on sf, as a .tar.gz, so you have to unzip (i got winzip, free) and then got the iso that i burnt to cd rom, it's only 21 meg...there is some talk on the website to make it flash-pen bootable.
i have an ati 7500 aiw, had a video issue with it so i went to 'vesa' settings on the boot screen, they say vesa works with most cards. s-video out watched a dvd and an avi, mystery men and oceans 11....
all i need to do now is make a little case with a smallish harddrive, nic, dvd-rom and paint black....bada-boom got me a slick little dvd-divx machine.
