Interesting cooling idea (THE FUTURE!?!?)
I had an interesting idea the other day for cooling my cpu, coz theres barely any room under my psu in my tiny case (about 1cm between it and the hsf). My cheap hsf does a great job on my overclocked celery 667 @ 1ghz but not good enough under the psu like that! so I strapped (or screwed, rather) the 5000rpm 6cm fan onto a stock p3 heatsink (coz its not as tall).
THEN I bought two 5cm fans from the local computer shop for a couple of bucks, got my hands on some 5cm plastic tubing, used some masking tape to seal one fan to the tube, (hey, it was just a test!) then sealed it to the heatsink fan on the other end and then another bit of tube sealed to another 5cm exhaust at the back (you get the picture).
Now when done well, (in my head) this plan should work amazingly, shouldnt it? Problem was the cheap 5cm fans move bugger all air and the exhaust one seized up and now theres no air comin out the exhaust. I reckon if I got some powerful 6cm fans I'd be set, hey...
Anyway, ripped it all out and just chucked the remaining 5cm beside my current cpu fan and Im getting stacks better results now than ever...
Any ideas?
Is this the future of pc cooling??? I believe so.
