Have to agree realy a suit and tie is unsutable for such a job though smart overalls would be more in line for parts of the job.
A national UK paper lately ran a story related to a gentleman suing the Local office of the DHSS [?] for having to wear a shirt and tie whilst women collegues can wear anything that is deamed "smart" classing it as sexual harrasment.
He also pointed out that his job entailed paperwork and not meeting the general puplic so it was an unnesacery expense.

I work in a shirt-and-tie environment. The men are severly restricted to what we can wear and we always have to wear these colorful silk neuses.

The women get away with murder! Short sleeve blouses, "skorts", and open-toed shoes (THEIR CALLED SANDALS!):mad:

My office is also like that, but the women always have to have hose on. Hahahahahaha, oh nelly, that is so much fun to listen to them clomplain.

Perhaps you should both wear skirts for the day ;):)

You might also point out open toed scandals are a health and safety hazard if they drop something on their feet.
