network neighborhood
OK call me stupid. New to XP, just bought a used Laptop with XP installed. Did a restore so I have only my problems to deal with. Restore went smooth doing a fresh install. Now for the stupid part...I can connect to my lan with no problem through search but I don't see an icon for Network Neighborhood or My Network Places.
I know I will find it eventually but could you guys speed me in the right direction?

ok its on your start menu properties - right click on a blank bit of start menu, properties, customise, advanced... all the links are in there to what shows up and what doesnt.
-
Right click on the desktop, properties, desktop tab, customize desktop near the bottom. Put a check mark in my network places.

Thanks guys. And you didn't even call me names! lol Gotta say my first experience with XP using it's new style is like I am in kindergarten and don't know where they keep the crayons.

You are just a few clicks away from making it resemble W2K if you want to............
-
Thing with XP is - right click all over, see what the properties box gives you :D

Yea I have found how to make it classic but my objective is to learn as it is so I can help friends and such. They do seem to hide a lot of things here on XP.
