Wow! Linksys' new routers are gonna be expensive! :D
for those of us who have linksys hardware, our upgrades, patches are going to be cicso made....sweeeet
I hope they use IOS in the new linksys routers. Because that is a phat chance to get paid :)
I love Linksys stuff. I have a ton of it at home. I hope this means the quality will just go up from here!
(Hope the prices don't skyrocket. Cisco aint cheap!)
OK, OK...I can take a hint. Time to learn Cisco......
Sorry to play devil's advocate, but I don't know if we're suddenly going to see the quality of Linksys products sky-rocket.
3Com simply wants to get into consumer network space. They did this by buying LinkSys.
This may turn out to be little more than taking an eraser to the LinkSys logo on the routers and NICs. :-(
You mean Cisco...:DQuote:

Cisco may add some knowledge to the soho stuff, but not a lot, looks like they are planning on letting linksys operate as before. Just remember, making better quality stuff will add cost to the hardware, and linksys is know for having decent hardware at inexpensive prices, may mean a price hick for linksys...Quote:
Going after consumers is a departure from Cisco's traditional business audience, which may explain why the company is going to take a hands-off role in the running of Linksys.
