WELCOME TO SPRING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am so glad to see warmer weather, sick of ice, scraping windshield, snow. hmmm...wonder if they need an aging tech in Bora-Bora?
Ah jeez it's been spring here since late January. Snow has been gone, temps in the 40's, earliest ice breakup since 1977, and then all of the sudden BAM...snow for the last 2 days and calling for more through Sunday. Well at least the temps are in the upper 20's, and in a few more weeks LOT'S of daylight! :D
yay, now I get to mop up the water in the basement seeping in through the cracks in the walls!Quote:

There is something extremely funny about the mental image of Damned Angel in waders with a mop...... :D :eek2: :D
February was hot...freaking hot....most of January was warm too. Now that we're around 'spring' its been getting colder. What I really hate is that sometimes we have 30 degree temp differences between 8AM and noon.
ain't nuttin funny bout spending $200 on a shop vac to suck up the water, $40 to rent a carpet fan to dry the carpets out, $50 on quick dry patching cement and $1200 on a new laundry team (old washer started leaking at the same time the walls did, 15+ years old, time to be replaced), all within 6 days.Quote:

wish I had a visa card. I might have gotten lucky and won what I bought.
thinking maybe I should start one of those cheesey "please give me money cause I suck and have none" websites.
How about installing a bilge pump :p
got a contractor coming out to do an estimate tonight.
I better stop on the way home and pick up a bottle of lube, it may hurt less that way.

well the first contractor was not too bad.
he does an epoxy resin injection and warranty's it for 10 years. It only costs $550 for the first 5 feet and $28 each additional foot.
seeing how the crack that needs to bee sealed is about 8 feet, I'm looking at just under $700 with tax.
now I just need to find a second job.
Anyone ever have or know anyone who has had a leakey basement fixed? I'd sure apperaciate some suggestions/horror stories from people who have gone through it before.

note the piss poor patching job that took me all of 30minutes with a compound that is supposed to be able to stop leaks that are still gushing water
:mult: :mult:
You'll never stop that water from coming into your basement from the inside...
Make sure those downspouts are away from your house.
