[RESOLVED] Invalid Media Type????

I have an IBM thinkpad that I am trying to install windows3.1 on. When trying to get a directory listing at the dos prompt for the C drive I get and error reading "invalid media type reading drive c" Can anyone help me with this? Does this mean the hard drive is blown? HELP! Thanks to anyone who can help. Please email me at [email protected] Thanks again!

did you fdisk or format it?
sounds like it needs to be at least formatted

Jeanne's right, it sounds like you have partitioned the hard drive with fdisk but haven't formatted yet. You will need to boot with a DOS floppy and "format c:".
