So I bought my wife a Dell Axim with the PocketPC OS on it, and she's wondering if she can "beam" data to someone who has a PDA with the Palm OS. I have no experience with PDAs, so I'm asking ya'll.
Is this possible, if so, how?

Yes. You get a load of bundled s/w... proably something like IRLink
Can't say for sure I ain't got one ... but I don't see why not, you can load s/w on it, its got an IR port... so yeah it must! :D
This is what you want: http://www.conduits.com/products/peacemaker/default.asp
It allows the Pocket PC to communicate with PalmOS devices, without any extra software to be installed on the PalmOS device.
Of course, about the only thing that will be able to be beamed back and forth is business cards, since beaming a PocketPC/PalmOS application to the other device is pointless.
Thanks fellas.
Mac, that's exactly what I was looking for.
You guys are the shiz!!

Pocket PC can receive from a Palm natively w/o any additional software. Sending to a Palm requires peacemaker (unless Palm has made changes in the latest OS).
