If your current drive has sufficient available space, you could use partitioning software like Partition Magic to shrink the existing partition(s) and create a new partition.
Not being an XP user I'm not sure, but XP's disk manager may have a similar facility.
What other OS would you be wanting to use, some older OSs have requirements regarding the position of their boot files on the drive, or need to be installed before XP, unless you use a third-party boot manager.
I'm having trouble running program in xp so they told it may run better in win98 can you tell me what file I need to may this work

You might like to tell us what program it is you are trying to run under XP - we might be able to help you get it going under XP.
You can always add another harddrive...
xp also has compatability mode.. if a program runs better on 98.. try using windows 98 compatability mode under xp..
I would also like to find out what program he is trying to run..
another idea, you can use vmware and not have to partition drive.. just make sure you have sufficient ram.
