Windows 98SE Network Problem
I have a client with 9 Windows 98SE machines. One of these acts as a server to run Outlook and file storage. This is also the machine that gives access to Telewest Broadband.
All the machines use DHCP.
I have one machine that cannot access the server through network neighborhood giving the following message: \\server is not accessible.
The odd thing is that this machine can access the shared files/printers of all the other machines and the internet connection on the network!
The 'Server' machine has no specific passwords or user accounts as it is W98SE.
I have changed network cards more than once and deleted/re-installed TCP/IP and NetBEUI etc with no effect.
Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
PS I have just tried to run TRACERT on the server and it times out. I can also not PING it. If I TRACERT any of the other machines the trace completes immediately.
Any advice on what causes this?
