anyone have any idea what this file is....i have a user that has it in their run folder in their registry...under HKLM

i cannot find any record of this file anywhere....

Google turned up nothing, which means that it doesn't exist. Must be a figment of your imagination...;)

Did you run a file and folder search for this file? Spybot? And what windows is this on?

nothing on google, yahoo or microsoft..

Have you done a search for that particular file name on the user's computer?

Do a search on the PC for that file then right click and view the properties. It should tell you the maker of the program and give you some details.

right click properties doesnt bring back any information....all items are blank...

any more ideas...

Does the icon look like a dollar sign? The reason I'm asking, is that I'm thinking of the "drive-by installed" garbage program called Free Scratch Cards. I've seen lots of that trash installed lately.

Click on the file once to highlight it. Hold down the shift key. Now, right-click on the file and select Open with... In the list, choose Notepad or WordPad.

This will show a lot of symbols and Stuff, but you'll but you'll be able to see ASCII and Unicode strings. This will give you a clue as to what it might be.
