have a pc with 98se the user can't use pc .error message is

explorer.exe 015f:00401f31.restart the pc and there is no task bar;the same thing happens in safe-mode.tried ctrl alt del
and it is just a white box.person says last the thing he did was go on-line.:(
Well, whats going on here is explorer (the interface part of windows) is crashing, either the file is corrupted or infected or it is tying to load something else along with it. I've seen some programs that "integrate" themselves into the os cause such problems.

thanks radical dreamer been reading the link.that may be the prob.ithink the pc has juno as its isp.
I would run Spybot S&D and/or Ad-Aware
All else fails... FFR. :)
just a thought, can you get into safe mode? It does sound like it could be a virus or bad adware. maybe you can run antivirus or spybot s&d from safemode.
