sysprep tool
I started studying for the 70-210 test and they talk about using sysprep for remote installs I was wondering has anyone ever used the sysprep tool to do w2kpro installs? If so I would love any pointers or tips I plan on giving it a shot this weekend. If you have any tutorials I could follow that would be awesome too. Thanks!

We used sysprep extensivly on our 2000 deployment. We just built up one system the way we want it, then we sysprepped it to remove any SID/workstation name information.
We then imaged the new workstations. Upon bootup, you have to enter the installation Key again, but it generates a new SID and you can adjust the network and workstation names at that time.
I guess it's mainly used to clear the SID so you have no duplicates on your network.
Really simple to use. Just run it, it does its work in a few seconds - then makes you reboot. That's it.

We used Deploycenter from Powerquest. It worked great to deploy the "basic" image we used across our company. We also use it for periodic image backups - in case we need to quicky re-image a workstation or server to get it operational.
We use it on our servers so I can do a fairly quick restore. Use the image to get it up and running and then pull from tape archive to get the files updated to most recent.
