I'zz picked up 2 copies of WIN XP PRO full for 17 bucks.
these are fully legal versions still in the sealed boxes. What should I do with them?
I am looking for ideas (becides give them to you, unless you plead a good case, or have a good item to trade)..
I would save them and use them when you build a customer's machine that needs an os. You could sell them to the customer for less than the retail version. The customer would be happy for getting a deal and you would make a little profit at the same time. Everyone wins!!

I would hold on to any invoice proving where and when you bought it. That way if it ever comes back to you, there is someone else to be blamed for pirating, or reselling stolen licenses. Sounds fishy, I don’t care how “legal” they appear to be.
Oh, the other thing to think about, do they have SP1 slipstreamed in? If not, will you be able to apply SP1 using the enclosed product key during you install...That would be a sure sign of a problem.

Oooooh, sorry. "Billy Gates" is the oldest scam in the book. You got rooked by a Taiwanese company. "Bill Gates" or "William Gates" is the Microsoft Chairman's actual name. Furthermore, it is unlikely that Billy, Bill, or William would have sent Windows XP to you personally.
Was it also sent from "Mycrosoft" in "Redmund, Washington?" Yep, that's the Billy I know. He's incorrigable.
Firemonkey was able to get the software form microsoft's retail training website. You take these quick tests and they give you points to redeem for software they are looking to give away. They also have one for xbox. I know firemonkey and he got the xp cd's on the up and up. I still have enough points to get 6 xbox games, but i no longer work retail. :sad:
