The school I work at is going to practice a LOCKDOWN drill this afternoon, this is what they would do if there was a person/persons in the building that are or may attempt to harm others. Such as a student with a weapon, or a parent with a problem that may harm a student. What a sad sign it is that we need to deal with this, why do you think that a kid gets picked on get it in there head to go shoot people. :( :( :(
Think of it this way. At least they are practicing for an eventuality so that it might not happen.
I will never forget when I had my son, they put one of those alarms on his ankle while we were there for the few days, so that if anyone tried to move him off of the floor an alarm would sound. This because there had been baby thefts in area hospitals in the past.
It's a product of what, I have no idea, but it's all related, and just as sickening.

It is sad what things have come to.
When I was in Jr High, the building was attached to the high school. We had a guy shoot a girl in the hallway then turn a gun on himself and kill himself...all cuz she wouldn't go to prom with him.....this was back in the early 80s before this stuff was as common as we hear about today....:( :(
That's the thing, it wasn't that uncommon years ago, it just wasn't sensationalized the way it is today. I watch the show Boston Public, and really enjoy it, but some of the topics are in my book irresponsible. They sensationalize certain activities in an effort to make great ratings, and intrigue audiences. But let’s face it, the kids that do this crap are losers, and want attention (in most circumstances). The more they get attention, the worse things can get. They are now airing the Colombine killers practice tapes. Oh, and the victims gave “permission/approval” for this airing. I find it appalling, I don’t want other kids to see this, and think that it is something they could do to get attention…Quote:

I bet...it brings back memories of when all that happened and the sickening feeling that all created and how creepy it was walking down that hallway and things.
I hope my son never has to go through such a thing... :(

A friend of mine in high school turned in a paper for a Spainish class he was taking. He started off the first paragraph stating that learning another language was stupid because when he takes over the world the only language will be the screams and wailing of the tomented souls or something like that.
