Presents presents presents!!!!

I have reason to believe that my wonderful wife has decided to get me a Gigabyte nForce2 motherboard and some PC3200 RAM for a present. (I am 99.99% sure this is true due to the size of the box I just recieved from allstarshop.com coupled with little hints she has been giving me)

This is all good except that I only have an Athlon 2400+ which operates at 133 DDR Mhz FSB. I was wondering if I could raise the bus on the board to 200 DDR Mhz and lower the multiplier to about 10 or 10.5? Has anyone done this? Will I need to unlock the CPU? I am not an overclocker as you may have guessed by this post but I do know that the increased memory bandwidth provided by the board and new memory would go to waste without the CPU's FSB running fast enough. Please let me know if you guys and gals have any info.

I'm using just a 2100 w/Palomino core so I don't have any direct experience with that model processor, but I have read of others using that chip and getting upwards of 230Mhz FSB by lowering the multiplier exactly as you described. Often, others have used exotic cooling and voltage modifications to do this. The highest I have been able to achieve with my chip and have good stability is 141 Mhz. but that's with a Palomino and KT266-A chipset. Always, though, performance seems to come down to the individual chip since no two are quite the same.

Ok I just got a Gigabyte GA-7NNXP motherboard and a gig of PC3200. Pretty sweet right?

Well now after installing the new parts with my old Athlon 2400+ I am unable to make the system POST with my Geforce 4MX 440 video card installed. I know my card is working fine and is AGP 4X compatible so what is the deal? I can use a PCI video card just fine (I am using the system right now) so I know it is not a CPU issue. The BIOS is rev A14 and I have the AGP speed set to 4X with an aperture of 64Meg with fast writes enabled in the BIOS. Everytime I plug the card in and hit the power switch all the fans go to full speed and the HD initializes but that is it. No beeps and no video. Then I pull the card out and put the PCI one in and it works like a charm. I also removed the DPS module just to make sure. Does anyone have any info on this?

Look under Video Adapter/Monitor Drivers and the AGP Backwards compatible??? thread. TripleRLtd posted a great link that might help. You may have a slot incompatibility with your card and the link may help verify that.
