Chalk up another victim to the screwed up economy. Or about 60 people in my case. Just found out yesterday that all the people with my company on the biggest account the company I work for has, are getting the axe as of 12/31/03. Merry Xmas!!! The thought of being unemployed is frightening. :sad: Although, I'm looking. Anyone have any idea how the IT job market is right now?

I have been looking for the last 6 months. I'd throw about 2-4 resumes out there a month. Didn't hear from any except one. I had that interview this past Tuesday. Oddly enough, the day before we all got the news about our jobs. Maybe it's a sign. :) But I don't want to hold my breath because of one interview. So I'll keep looking...

Sorry to hear about you being laid off. My husband was laid off Jan 2, 2003. Then the outlook didn't look so hot, but he found something about 1 1/2 months later. The outlook is a lot better than 6 months ago or even 2 years ago when all this insanity happened. Hang in there. :thumbs:

Im In Chicagoland area western burbs,, approx 40 mins as the crow flys,, out this way,, Most of the local villagies/cities are looking for Net admins, looking in the local paper,, Aurora is offering 23 bucks an hr,, several others listed also,, but no mention of moneys.
Lotta the schools,, Highschools ect are also looking for hot shot ITs,,, Appears the demands getting way better out this way keyword: Appears lol

Well, I sent out several resumes yesterday. I have a phone interview in about 10 min. Things may be looking up. Maybe I was worrying over nothing. Wish me luck! :cool:
Good luck, dude. I'm luckily in no danger of being laid off, but that's prolly because I'm so damn underpaid. Kinda looking to upgrade, though.

Boy does that royally suck! Good luck in the job hunt. The IT job market is really harsh in most areas because there are so many of us unemployed looking for work. Be on the lookout for other jobs that might suit you for the time being. Being employed working a non IT job while looking for an IT job, is much better than unemployed looking for an IT job.
