Welcome to Windrivers Huntz!
Yes we do need more information, is this a branded machine? Are you using any sort of controller?
Is this a laptop?
Lack of this :- IntelĀ® Application Accelerator usually causes that.
I built this pc myself, I have no scsi devices, but it says I have.
Amd 2700+
Nf7 Mobo
Maxtor 6 40 GB - In hardware, device manager tab Displayed as Scsi
Dvd Writer - In the hardware, device manager tab Displayed as Scsi
256 Ram
Voodoo 3 3000
Windows xp
I've tried updating the bios, getting new drivers for devices, Service pack for XP.
The main reason the is a problem is because I can't use my Dvd Writer because the program just crashes it tries to access the Dvd writer as a scsi drive.
Help.
Okay, now I know what it is :) then lack of nforce chipset patch usually causes that :D They are here
Its not uncommon for windows to mis-detect ide as scsi, the atapi drivers do just that on purpose for writing purposes, if during setup atapi mode gets 'stuck on' then your devices appear to windows as if connected by scsi as the atapi drivers job is to impersonate just that, (DMA arbitration is the usual culprit).
If you already have that patch then in safe mode, reaply patch, & delete all the devices concerned & the ide controllers, restart, windows should now hopefully find your devices where it ought ...
Thanks mate, its working now. Im now copying Dvd's! You guys rock!
welcome :)
