Just hope this time its true.

Don't get your hopes up to much to soon it could well be one of his many body doubles which may be why theres a delay to authenticate identities.
This said I believe they have his thumb print in a English foundry as they were sculpting it onto an image of his thumb pre his "abdication".

Tony Blair has just confimed Saddam Hussain has been captured.

Im in Australia but am watching a live NBC news break and they have confirmed by DNA testing that it is Saddam.

Apparently they were tipped off that Saddam was in a house. When the troops stormed the house saddam was hiding outside in a hole.

Yep, just watching the official announcement from Gen Ricardo Sanchez, with short film that appears to be Saddam having medical exam, wearing beard, then slides of him shaven.

The internet has slowed down a lot - must be heavy traffic...

So they got him at last? About time.

Are they going to use some nerve gas to kill him as he used on thousands of his own people?

More likely he'll be put up in some soft jail for the rest of his life living in comfort. He'd have been better left on the run, so that at least he'd be watching over his shoulder until the day he died.

The current thinking seems to be for him to be tried in Iraq. I don't suppose they'd be lenient with him.

The requisite legislation to enable members of the former regime to be tried in Iraq was passed only about a week ago.

Was watching the news, DNA tests prove it was him.

Iraq isn't the UK. They have capital punishment. Saddam is going the way of public trial and death penalty. I can think of nothing more fitting than trying him as a common criminal then executing him.

WTF!!!

this totally sucks.

i was hoping to catch him and collect the reward money then i wouldnt have to work again.


this just totally ruins my day now :(

Actualy, i think iraq abolished capital punishment recently.

He's directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands. I think they'll make an exception.
