Can I put a 8x AGP GeForce4 MX440 in a old celeron computer?
Is there a voltage problem?
The computer is like a celeron 200MHz, I am not sure what the mobo is.
Thanks

The motherboard make and model would allow you to tell if it can use the AGP8x card or not...
ok i will try to get that...
but can the card drop down to 4x?
i dont care if i get 8x, i just want it to work
The card will only run as fast as the bus that it is attached to.
On a 200 mhz celeron it is unlikely it will even fit... as the slots in the edge connector will be in a different place.
There probably is a voltage problem. Remember that new 8x cards want 1.5 volts present on the AGP bus, most older AGP slots provide 3.3 volts. In the least interesting case you'll smoke the card, in the most interesting case you'll smoke both the card and the motherboard.Quote:
