Deleting old files

I need to clean out an FTP area on one of our servers because people here at work are using it to archive files. I basically want to run a script (or something similar) every day that will delete all files that are older then 48 hours. I thought I could use the delete command but I don't know if it will do this. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can do this?
