Can't connect machines on a network
I have two PC's running WInXP Pro. One is hard wired to a wireless router, the ohter is a laptop running wireless.
Nothing I do seems to allow me to get these to machines to see eachother. All I need is for the wireless one to be able to print to the ohter PC's printer.
THey are both on the same named workgroup
I have File and Print share enabled
Each PC has a unique name
I ran the network wizard. NOt sure what options to pick with connecting through a router though.
I'm stumpped. Please help.

Everyone else is not even close to helping you fix that problem. Your problem lies in the fact that you have a router with a firewall. Windows XP has a built in firewall. You can't be behind 2 firewalls. That's why you can connect to the internet and not the other systems. You need to shut off the firewall in XP. Go to MY Network Places. View Network Connections. Look for your LAN Connecton. Open it then go to Properties. Go to the Advance Tab. Turn off the firewall. Reboot your system. Then repeat this on all of the others on the network. I also recommend that your router has the latest firmware installed. Any more questions you can email me at [email protected]
