Just my opinion, but I wouldn't buy one with 96k. Maybe a Pathfinder or Rodeo or the like, but not an American-made truck.Quote:

A friend of mine bought a used Grand Cherokee and hates it now. It went into the shop almost 1 month after he bought it. Luckily, he had some kinda of 6 month warrenty left on it because it took them almost an entire year to figure out why his 4wd kept going out.
I would be very cautious before buying a used 4wd anything because you dont know what kind of abuse they have been though. Have a mechanic look at anything before you buy one...
Myself, I have a Jeep Liberty Renegade.. and I love it. Off road lights, side step bars.. ect..
Didn't you just buy a car a few months ago?? Sick of it and going BIG now huh??
Cool....
got another kid coming and wife's car is dying. she wants an suv to haul the 3 monsters in. she likes the durrango, but i'm not sure if i do.
i was looking at the one with 96k on it only becuase she doesn't drive all that much. it's still alot of miles and i'd hate to have the thing crap out on me before i get done paying for it.
i'll prolly end up selling my Altima and gettering an 'el cheapo car and a motorcycle.
I've only got 30K on my Dakota but it's been pretty flawless so far. If you ever plan on towing anything with it though, get something with a better engine.
Oh, as a sidenote, when you get it serviced, find somone that won't screw you. I had another dakota before this one. I took it in with about 60K miles on it for the standard service. Long story short it took three trips back to the garage to get it fixed. The third trip was to a different dealership. Some of the monkeys they've got working on these things couldn't peel a banana.
the durrange has the 5.7l v8 engine in it with teh towing package
Get her a nice grocery getter.....
personally I'd rather have a GM product with a 350 engine instead of the mopar v8, but them envoys and yukons are more money. :(
Here is the problem I see with Durango’s:
http://consumeraffairs.com/news03/durango_probe2.html
This has proven to be a serious issue with these, and the Dakota’s, per some reports. Until this gets ironed out, with a true recall, I would stay away from these SUV’s, especially when used as a family wagon!!!
I have to agree with Ya_know on this one. There have been multiple problems with the durango's, and they are not cheap to repair. My father (a mechanic) has had to see more than the expected share of them. Also, there have been some issues with the transmissions, so I would stay away. Just my .02
P.S. I do know that I am biased (duh), but the tahoes are really nice!
So if you get it, pay close attention to your balls. :eek2:Quote:
