Looking to copy whole directories at a time with a dos command

Looking to copy whole directories at a time with a dos command, does anyone know a does command for this?

xcopy sourcedirectoryname target
/S Copies directories and subdirectories except empty ones.
/E Copies directories and subdirectories, including empty ones.
