I Flashed my Compaq EVO N1012V Bios
Laptop can be switched on but no hd floppy or cd drive support .
screen stays black , but cooling fan is running, anny suggestions how to fix this

You are sure you used the correct rompaq for your laptop?
1012V isn't a vaild model number on the HP service site. Did you mean the 1015v or the 1020v? If so then the wrong rompaq will result in a corrupt BIOS requiring the systemboard to be replaced or a fixed rom swaped on to the board. There is no BIOS recovery jumpers on this series. The systemboard for the 1015v is listed at ~415 dollars from HP.

Next time be 100% sure that you have the right rompaq. Also don't update it unless there is a real reason to do so. To many things can go wrong with a BIOS update. Esp since Compaq is to cheap to make the rom removable or have a recovery jumper. (They used to about 3-4 years ago.)

I have the same problem.
But, I've been reading, and it appears that modern BIOS have a boot block that is not overwritten whet the bios is flashed (updated).
It seems that you can restore the BIOS with some kind of special procedure, anyone knows something about it?
